The fruit is characterized by intense sweetness and high juiciness, making it a real pleasure in the hot season. The reputation of Bozoi watermelon is high both in Almaty region and beyond. It is known for its resistance to climatic conditions of the region, which ensures stable yields. Local farmers appreciate this variety for its high yield and resistance to diseases. In addition, Bozoi watermelon is rich in vitamins and minerals, making it not only tasty but also a healthy product. Watermelons are often used in various culinary recipes and fresh, emphasizing their versatility. Bozoi watermelon has unique characteristics directly related to its place of origin - southern Kazakhstan, namely in Almaty region, Zhambyl district, Bozoi village. Watermelon is grown in a specific climate, high seasonal temperatures in summer, contribute to rapid ripening of fruits and accumulation of sugars that makes watermelons especially sweet and juicy. The moderate humidity in the region helps to keep the plants healthy, preventing disease and promoting good growth. Physical and chemical properties of soil in Almaty region are rich in minerals, which provides watermelons with necessary nutrients. The presence of large areas covered with sunny days promotes intensive photosynthesis, which also affects the taste and flavor of fruits. The wind rose in this region favors air circulation, which prevents plants from overheating and creates optimal conditions for their development. These natural factors shape the exceptional qualities of the Bozoia watermelon, including its sweetness, bright flesh color and nutritional value, making it one of the most desirable and popular watermelons in both local and international markets. Bozoi watermelon production begins with careful variety selection and soil preparation. Farmers choose high-yielding seeds that are adapted to the climatic conditions of the region. Before sowing, the soil is cultivated by applying organic fertilizers to ensure its fertility. Watermelon sowing is usually done in April when the soil temperature reaches 12-15 degrees Celsius. The seeds are planted at a depth of about 5-7 cm, leaving sufficient distance between rows to ensure good air circulation and access to light. It is important to provide adequate irrigation, especially during dry periods, to prevent plant stress. During the growing season, farmers regularly monitor soil moisture levels, use drip irrigation and mulching to help conserve moisture and prevent weed growth. Fertilization with fertilizers containing the necessary micronutrients is also carried out, which helps to improve the quality of fruits. Harvesting begins in late July and continues until September. Storage and transportation conditions: The fruits are picked by hand to avoid damage and are carefully sorted by size and quality. After picking, the watermelons are placed in special containers for transportation. To preserve freshness, the watermelons are stored in cool and well-ventilated rooms before being sent to the market.
