National Institute of Intellectual Property
February 17, 2026, the «National Institute of Intellectual Property» (Qazpatent) held an online seminar “Filing a patent application, legal protection, and patent search” for the faculty and staff of «Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov» (hereinafter – the university).
The event was aimed at developing the scientific and innovative potential of the university, enhancing knowledge and competencies in the field of intellectual property management, and strengthening cooperation between the Qazpatent Technology and Innovation Support Center and the university.
The opening speech was delivered by the vice-rector for research and internationalization of the university, Bakhtaulova Aleftina Sembaevna. She highlighted the role of patent activities in developing the university’s scientific and innovative potential and expressed gratitude to Qazpatent for organizing the seminar and supporting the university in enhancing knowledge in the field of intellectual property management.
The seminar was conducted and report on the activities of the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISC) were presented by Shalabayeva Uldana Karatayevna, Head of the Patent Research and Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISC) Coordination Department at Qazpatent. It should be noted that since April 27, 2022, the university has been a participant in the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISC) project, implemented under the coordination of Qazpatent, and actively participates in enhancing knowledge in the field of intellectual property management.
During the seminar, the сhief expert of the department of formal examination of inventions and breeding achievements, Kylyshbayeva Gulziya Bedenovna, presented “Filing a patent application and legal protection of inventions and utility models,” and the chief expert of the department of patent examination in the field of physics and mechanical engineering, Alimbekov Shyngys Zhandarbekovich, presented “Patent Search”.
During the seminar, university staff actively participated and received answers to questions regarding filing patent applications, legal protection, and patent searches. The university expressed interest in continuing cooperation within the framework of the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISC).
The seminar conducted by Qazpatent contributes to the development of partnerships with scientific organizations and the enhancement of the qualifications of the university’s faculty and staff in the field of intellectual property, which in turn stimulates increased activity among applicants in filing for intellectual property protection.
