National Institute of Intellectual Property
From September 24 to 26, 2025, a training seminar was held in Almaty, organized by the Training Center of the Qazpatent Branch. The event was attended by representatives of scientific and educational organizations, engineers, researchers, intellectual property specialists and business representatives.
Zaure Orynbekova, Director of the Qazpatent branch, made a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of the patent system for innovative development and the importance of spreading knowledge about the legal aspects of invention protection.
The seminar program included a study of national and international legislation (Paris Convention, PCT, EAPC), consideration of patentability criteria, specifics of filing applications and conducting expertise, as well as practical exercises on patent search and preparation of legal documents. Special attention was paid to working with the international databases Espacenet, WIPO Patentscope and EAPO.
Presentations were made by experts from the Qazpatent Branch, as well as invited specialists, including Amirkhan Temirbayev, Director of the Farabi Supercomputer Center, Vice President of the Kazakhstan Union for the Commercialization of Science, who presented the experience of commercialization of university developments.
The participants noted the high level of organization, the practical orientation of the program and the relevance of the materials presented. At the end of the event, all participants were awarded certificates.
The Qazpatent branch thanks the speakers and participants for their active participation. Such seminars contribute to the development of an innovative environment and enhance culture in the field of intellectual property in Kazakhstan.
