Qazpatent on the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

10 December, 2024

An important event for Central Asia and the Eurasian region has received global recognition. The official website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) published news about the WIPO Regional Meeting for the Development of Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) Networks in Central Asia and the WIPO-EAPO Regional Meeting for Technoparks. The event took place in Astana on December 3-6, 2024.

During the event, representatives from Central Asian countries and the wider Eurasian region gathered to exchange best practices and strategies for building sustainable TISC networks. Discussions focused on strengthening the region's intellectual property innovation ecosystem, which supports local researchers, inventors, and entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey—from idea inception to commercialization.

Special attention in the WIPO article was given to the opening remarks of the Vice Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Botagoz Zhakselekova. In her speech, she highlighted the significance of the TISC project for regional development, emphasizing that TISCs are not only a tool for supporting technologies but also an important step toward creating a sustainable innovation infrastructure and strengthening the economic potential of Kazakhstan's regions. These centers lay a solid foundation for further international collaboration.

The publication on the WIPO website serves as a clear acknowledgment of Qazpatent's significance on the international stage. Support from the Japan Patent Office (JPO) demonstrated a high level of international cooperation aimed at building sustainable networks of innovation support. During the event, Qazpatent reaffirmed its pivotal role in coordinating international projects and promoting Kazakhstan’s innovation potential, actively contributing to the development of intellectual property in the region.

Qazpatent extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants and partners of the event for their contributions to the development of intellectual property and innovation. We take pride in the global recognition of our efforts and look forward to continuing to advance the region's innovation potential to achieve global objectives.
