The second final day of the joint workshop with the Japan Patent Office (JPO) took place on May 29, 2024.
The topic of the day was dedicated to measures to combat counterfeit products.
On the part of the Kazakhstan government bodies, speakers from the Department for Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of Customs Control of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part, who spoke about the ongoing state policy and measures aimed at protecting the market from counterfeit products.
In response, the delegation from Japan introduced the event participants to the anti-counterfeit measures taken by JPO, and also spoke about cooperation between agencies involved in the fight against counterfeiting in Japan. The latest cases of devious tricks and skillfully concealed infringements in Japan were discussed.
During the Questions and Answers section, the parties discussed points of interest to them, and also exchanged contacts if it was necessary to obtain more detailed answers to the questions raised.
At the end of the two-day joint event, Deputy Director of Qazpatent Yerden Kussain thanked the guests and speakers for their participation, and also expressed hope for the development of further cooperation with JPO.
