National Institute of Intellectual Property
Fr om 18 to 29 September 2023, the Summer School on Intellectual Property organized by Qazpatent with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) was successfully held in Almaty at the International University of Information Technologies (IITU). The WIPO project was held in Kazakhstan for the second consecutive year.
This two-week educational event, which included lectures from leading experts, immersed the participants in the world of intellectual property. Lecturers at the Summer School included representatives of WIPO, the Eurasian Patent Office, Kazakhstani patent attorneys, legal practitioners, business experts and Qazpatent speakers, as well as other intellectual property experts.
School participants included intellectual property specialists, managers, business representatives, patent attorneys, coordinators of technology and innovation support centers from two universities, legal practitioners, students and inventors.
The program of the event covered various aspects of intellectual property, including valuation, branding, intangible asset management, technology transfer and protection, licensing, copyright and related rights, patents and innovation, trademarks, IP infringement protection, as well as other topical issues.
The program included excursions to the Science and Technology Park of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Medeo and the Pomological Garden of KazNII.
On the final day on September 29, 2023, the participants of the Summer School took part in group discussions wh ere they presented their reports on the proposed topics. The participants highly appreciated the event and emphasized its importance.
The event ended with the awarding of certificates confirming the successful completion of the Summer School on Intellectual Property.
