A meeting between the Director of Qazpatent, Yerbol Ospanov, and the Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Katherine Vidal, took place on 7 March 2023. The meeting took place during the first USPTO conference on mentoring, inclusion and related topics.
During the meeting the parties expressed their desire to continue to strengthen partnerships in the exchange of experience in various fields, mutual participation in training projects and possible joint collaborations.
Yerbol Ospanov suggested using the Qazpatent's dialogue platform to organize meetings and consultations on topical issues of intellectual property for the US business community in Kazakhstan.
The Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation between Qazpatent and the US Patent and Trademark Office was signed on 8 December 2016.
