National Institute of Intellectual Property
On November 29, 2022, a forum of coordinators of the national network of Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) in Kazakhstan was held with the participation of representatives of the Department of Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, territorial justice authorities, TISC coordinators and organizations interested in joining the project. A total of 50 students took part.
Aisha Zhumabekova, Deputy Director of Kazpatent, opened the forum with a welcoming speech. In her speech, she noted a steady increase in the number of organizations participating in the TISC project, which opened based on 17 organizations in 12 regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Inkara Shertysheva, Head of the Department for Development and International Cooperation spoke about the benefits of the project, noting that the main goal of the project is to raise awareness in the field of the legal protection of the results of intellectual activity and conduct patent research through various forms of training, including distance courses and trainings through the organization of webinars of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy.
Altynai Batyrbekova, Head of the Department of Inventions, Utility Models, and Selection Achievements, told the audience about the importance of preliminary information search in the implementation of scientific research and noted that the support of technology and innovation plays a central role in the economic growth of any country.
The chief expert of the Department, Shyngys Alimbekov, clearly demonstrated to the audience how patent searches are carried out in domestic and international databases.
During the forum, representatives of the Department of Justice of the Turkestan region announced the accession to the project of the 18th TISC based on the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmet Yasawi.
The organizers of the forum shared with the participants their plans for the development of the international project.
It should be noted that in 2021, Kazakhstan, represented by the patent office, joined the international project to create TISCs around the world, initiated by WIPO
