On 12 February, 2014 in Branch RSE "NIIP" in Almaty was held a meeting of representatives of the Kazakhstan Patent Office represented by the Chairman of the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abzal Yestayev, Director of the National Institute of Intellectual Property Syrym Bekenov, Deputy Director Saule Zhussupbekova and Aybek Alipbay and representatives of the World intellectual Property Organization represented by Michal Svantner, Director of the Department of transition and developed economies and Saule Tlevlessova, Head of the Section for Caucasian, Central Asian and Eastern European Countries of the Department for Transition and Developed Countries.
Delegates visit the Branch of the RSE “National Institute of Intellectual Property” in Almaty and the Information Technology Park «ALATAU IT CITY».
The meeting will hold in order to implement paragraph 5 of the National Action Plan for the implementation of the President's Address to the Nation on January 17, 2014 on the protection of intellectual property.
On 13 February, 2014 the meeting is continiue. Also planned to discuss the development of IP strategies in countries with economies in transition, WIPO's experience to develop IP strategies, optimization of Kazakhstan expert organization of the Patent Office in the direction of protection of IP rights . Will also discuss proposals for the modernization of the system of protection of IP by academia, patent attorneys, business representatives and associations, participation in WIPO International Forum "Anti counterfeit" and a visit to the Republican contest of achievements in the field of inventive activities "Shapagat".
