April 10, 2019 to stimulate and support the intellectual potential of Kazakhstan students, a branch of the RSE "National Institute of Intellectual Property" for students of the Central Asian Technical and Economic College (CATEC), Almaty, held a seminar on "Amazing inventions in science and technology".
At the origin of CATEC is the Alma-Ata cinema college with more than 75 years of glorious history. During the Great Patriotic War, the technical school was the only educational institution in the country that trained personnel for the cinema system. A significant place in the history of the cinema college left the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography - VGIK, evacuated in 1941 to Alma-Ata. The largest film studio of the Soviet Union, Mosfilm, and then Lenfilm evacuated. During the war years, more than 80% of all film production were released at the Central United Film Studio. Here Muscovites and Leningrad workers worked together.
On the basis of CATEC in order to identify creative and gifted young people, the “Technique-Zhastarga”, “IT Open”, and “Bagdarlamashy” competitions are held annually among initiative colleges. A special place in the preparation of highly qualified specialists is given to the research activities of students. Under the guidance of teachers, they create research projects, as well as develop projects to improve production processes.
Representatives of the institute (Nazarov B. and Abdildanova A.) told college students about the Nazarbayev Fund Schools Challenge competition and the Eurasian Patent Universiade "Looking to the Future" and about "Amazing Inventions in Science and Technology."
At the end of the event, the deputy director of the college for academic work, N.N. Zhaksybayeva thanked the representatives of the institute with the wishes of further fruitful work.
