On October 24, 2019 in Nur-Sultan employees of RSE "National Institute of Intellectual Property" took part in the training on the Legal Protection of Intellectual Property. Khasanov Bakytzhan Kenesovich, General Director of LLP “KazMunayGas Engineering”, made a welcoming speech, who noted the importance of carrying out work to increase inventive activity in the oil and gas sector and informed the training participants about the opening of a new department, which was specially created to comprehensively support the scientific research of the enterprise.
The speakers from RSE "NIIP" were the Head of the Department of inventions, utility models and selection achievements Guldana Ilyasova and the Acting Head of the copyright Department Sayat Shiderbekov.
During her speech Guldana Ilyasova spoke in detail about the types of intellectual property objects, including their advantages and disadvantages, terms and conditions of registration. In addition, the participants of the training were provided with information on the patent activity of enterprises of Kazakhstan in the oil and gas industry. During the discussion, it was noted that to ensure a competitive advantage in the market, it is necessary to use a combination of different tools for the protection of intellectual property.
During his speech, Sayat Shiderbekov spoke in detail about the types of copyright objects and the procedure for registering rights to copyright objects. He also noted that since 2018, amendments have been made to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and currently registration is carried out within one business day. In addition, Sayat Shiderbekov emphasized that copyright arises due to the fact of creation and inclusion in the State Register of objects protected by copyright, is the good will of the author and is not required.
At the end of the training participants expressed their gratitude and offered to continue cooperation with RSE "NIIP" on the issues of training for employees of LLP "KazMunayGas Engineering".
