On June 23, 2021, in the Department of Justice of Karaganda Oblast, the ceremony of awarding winners of the competition for the award of the honorary title «Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 2021» was held.
The meeting was opened by the Head of the Department, Timur Yermagambetov, the Director of Kazpatent Yerbol Ospanov, and the Honorary Guest of the event, President of the Eurasian Patent Office, Saule Tlevlessova, which noted the importance of the competition as a way of encouraging and honoring the authors of the most important and widely used inventions.
Based on the decision of the competition commission, the title «Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 2021» was awarded to the candidate of technical sciences, acting assistant professor of the Karaganda Technical UniversityDmitry Pak, and candidate of technical sciences, professor of the department «Nanotechnology and metallurgy» of Karaganda Technical UniversityVitalyKulikov. The winners were awarded diplomas and commemorative ribbons.

LyubovHwan, a member of the Patent Attorneys Union of Kazakhstan congratulated the holders of the high award. She noted a small but steady increase in the number of applications and security documents received in Karaganda province. She expressed the wish that joint work should be undertaken to train applicants in the basics of intellectual property.In response to a request from the patent attorney, decided to carry out joint activities with the Department of Justice of Karaganda province aimed at raising public awareness of IP through the holding of webinars, etc. events.
In general, inventions and useful models account for the largest percentage of applications from applicants from Karaganda province. Thus, in 2020, the share for inventions was 10.5 percent and the share for useful models 9.5 percent respectively (third place inactivity after the applicants from Nur-Sultan and Almaty), from January 2021 - 9.3 percent and 10.8 percent.
