On March 24, 2022, at the site of the Atyrau region Regional Chamber "Atameken", Vice Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akerke Akhmetova met with representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. The meeting was dedicated to providing favorable conditions for the observance and protection of intellectual property rights.
During the meeting, A.Akhmetova spoke about the work of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its non-governmental organization RSE "National Institute of Intellectual Property" (Kazpatent). She noted the importance of increasing the level of protection of intellectual property rights, which allows attracting investments, innovations and modern technologies to Kazakhstan and opens up opportunities for the growth of small and medium-sized businesses.
It was also noted that Kazpatent is an expert organization subordinate to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which carries out activities for the registration of intellectual property objects and their inclusion in the relevant state register.
A.Akhmetova noted the work on conducting training events on an ongoing basis for representatives of Atameken and the business community of various regions. Similar webinars are also planned to be held by entrepreneurs of Atyrau region this year.
In addition, it was noted that another initiative for the development of the field of intellectual property is the creation of a network of Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISC). TISCs are an international project initiated by the World Intellectual Property Organization to help build the innovative capacity of countries. Representatives of Kazpatent presented information on objects of intellectual property rights and development of the TISC network.
