The patent holder of the "Kazakh Tazy" is the Republican Association of Public Associations of Hunters and Hunting Entities "Kansonar".
The public association "Kansonar" was officially registered in 2013. According to the statutory goals of the organization, "Kansonar" was responsible for preserving and increasing and attracting public interest in the national dog breeds of the Kazakh Tazy and Tobet.
For the first time in the regional nurseries of the Republic, a new breed of dog, the “Kazakh Tazy”, has been created, well adapted to the harsh local natural and climatic conditions for the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage and identity, national hunting traditions and techniques developed by previous generations of the peoples of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In connection with the preparation for testing with the Institute of Genetics, scientific research was carried out in 2021-2023, the object of the study was dogs of the Kazakh Tazy breed. In order to assess the state of the gene pool and create a genetic profile of Kazakh Tazy dogs, the Association collected bioinformation and genetic material, obtained parameters of genetic diversity and developed their individual DNA profiles. In general, a patent for a selection achievement is issued if there are criteria of novelty, distinctiveness, homogeneity and stability. The scope of legal protection provided by a patent for a selection achievement is determined by the set of features included in the description of the breed.
The patent for the selection achievement was issued on the basis of the conclusion of the state commission of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the decision on which was made in accordance with the Methodology for testing and approbation of selection achievements in the field of animal husbandry.
The studies revealed the typological feature of the higher nervous activity (HNA) of the Kazakh Tazy dog breed, revealed the most stable, innate and lifelong properties of its nervous system, the functional state of the higher nervous centers. Periods of increased performance and stability of the dogs' gait during the run reveal a pronounced dependence on the functional state of its nervous system. The exceptional stability of the HNA of the Kazakh Tazy distinguishes it from all other dog breeds. Dogs of the Kazakh Tazy breed are distinguished by high performance in coursing (dogs running after a mechanical hare), as well as in competitions and tests of dogs of the Kazakh Tazy breed.
In all regions, regional and republican breeding shows of dogs of the Kazakh Tazy breed are held annually in the representative offices of the Kansonar Association, on the basis of which expert opinions are issued on the compliance of the exhibited dogs with their standard. They are well adapted to any climatic conditions of maintenance; during the commission assessment, males are assessed - 120, females - at least 100 points). Dogs of the Kazakh Tazy breed, having a high degree of plasticity, quite easily tolerate wind, low temperatures of a long winter period and a hot dry period of the southern summer. It should be noted that on January 2, 2023, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a law that brought the Kazakh dog breeds Tazy and Tobet under state protection.
