Qazpatent has registered five brands from the Kyzylorda region

Geographical indication from Kyzylorda - Арал жантақ сабыны (Aral Zhantak soap).

The main component reflecting the characteristics of soap, namely a special property, is a decoction of zhantak, which is the main component of soap. In addition to it, the composition of natural soap includes coconut, safflower and palm oils.

Zhantak is a camel thorn that grows in Aralsk in the Karakum Desert. It is known that the thorn grows in the dry steppes and foothills, deserts and semi-deserts of Central and Asia Minor (the Kyzylkum and Karakum deserts). Zhantak soap has absorbed the best of the camel thorn. The plant grows in the south of Kazakhstan. An outwardly ordinary plant - camel thorn or zhantak, as people most often call it, is in fact a whole steppe pharmacy, which, by the way, was constantly used by folk healers 100-150 years ago. Zhantak roots contain many useful substances, including ascorbic acid, alkaloids, catechins, coumarins and flavonoids. There are also organic acids, rubber and essential oils. Healing infusions and decoctions are prepared from the plant. In particular, a decoction of the roots of the zhantak has anti-inflammatory, astringent properties, it is recommended to take it for the treatment of dysentery. The thorn acts as a meliorator plant and in a few decades makes a field abandoned due to salinization fertile again. Unlike most saline plants, camel thorn is not poisonous and is edible for many herbivores.

The policy of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan on promoting regional brands today leads to an increase in the activity of local executive bodies in the field of patenting means of individualization, as well as to an increase in consumer interest in regionally produced products - this indicates the feasibility of further development of regional brands. We invite district and regional akimats to work on identifying local traditional, unique goods that can generate consumer interest.
