On October 12-13, 2023, Astana will host the II Congress of Technology and Innovation Support Centers to discuss the concept of the development of the national network of CTI in the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign experience in the activities of CTI, programs to support technology entrepreneurs and technoparks of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The congress will discuss the issues of determining the possibilities of the integration of CTI in the regions of Kazakhstan, modeling of new services as the most important tool for information and personnel support of innovative development of the region, technology transfer and innovation, building the interaction of CTI with new structures: REC, CTT universities and research institutes.
The Congress is organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (hereinafter - WIPO), the National Institute of Intellectual Property (hereinafter – NIIS).

For reference. The creation of the CTI network is an international WIPO project created to enable innovators in developing countries, least developed countries and countries with economies in transition to better use their innovative potential. The scale of the CTI program is growing annually, today more than 1,400 CTI have been opened in 90 countries. The project coordinator in the Republic of Kazakhstan is NIIS.
To date, there are 22 CPTI in Kazakhstan on the basis of the Science Foundation and commercialization offices of Nazarbayev University, KBTU, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and other institutions. The CTI program enables inventors and entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan to gain access to high-quality technical information and related services stored in local databases, thereby providing conditions for the realization of the innovative potential of Kazakhstani inventors, as well as for the creation of new products and for the registration, protection and control of intellectual property (IP) rights to it.
