On January 21, 2013 the Department of Justice of Pavlodar region held Operational Meeting on "enforceable penalties for violations of intellectual property rights", with the participation of the Interior, the financial police and prosecutors.
The meeting discussed issues and problems in law enforcement when interacting with law enforcement agencies in identifying justice offenses in the area of intellectual property.
Law enforcement agencies, a mechanism in the transmission of the judiciary, which issued a decision not to institute criminal proceedings for bringing offenders to administrative liability provided by:
1. a decision not to institute criminal proceedings under Articles 184, 184-1 and 199 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan employee, identify the offense;
2. in order to promptly address the issue of the calculation of damages, to correspond with the rights holders, including facsimile and electronic communication.
In just the last in 2012 by the Department of Justice of Pavlodar region through joint monthly preventive operations "Cybercrime", "Counterfeit", "Proxy - 2012" found 57 cases of illegal use of intellectual property, of which 11 criminal cases under Article 184 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Damages which amounted to 6.9 mln. 5 criminal cases sent to court. Department of Justice filed six administrative cases.
