Information on the results of round-table discussion on "Improving the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of intellectual property"

On February 22, 2013 the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Institute of Intellectual Property held a round table discussion on "Improving the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of intellectual property."

On January 23, 2013 at a meeting on the results of 2012 and tasks of the Strategy-2050, held in Akorda, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to simplify the registration of inventions, "For the continued success of industrialization, we have to protect intellectual property. I instruct the Government to simplify the registration of inventions, patents, and to reach the level of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development on this indicator. "

The event was held in order to fulfill the President's instructions, as well as paragraph 38 of the Operational Plan of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2013, approved by the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was attended by representatives of government agencies, non-governmental organizations, as well as patent attorneys and rights holders.

The round table was chaired by the Chairman of the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of Kazakhstan A.Estaev.

During the event, considered the issue of making amendments to the legislation in the field of intellectual property, namely industrial property.
