Fifty- Second Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization

In the period from 10 to 12 December 2013 in Geneva (Switzerland) held fifty-second series of meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization.

At this event the Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by representatives of the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights : A. Yestayev, Chairman of the Committee, A. Meirzhan, Head of HR, organizational control and analysis, RSE "National Institute of Intellectual Property" represented by the Director – S. Bekenov, and Deputy Director – A. Alipbai.

The meeting discussed the following agenda items :

1. Planning , drafting and adoption of the budget ;

2 . Audit and Oversight ;

3 . WIPO committees and the international legal framework , etc.

In addition, consider the convening of a diplomatic conference to conclude a treaty on the Law of the samples , the general policy for the guidance of WIPO external offices , as well as issues relating to the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights .

The event concluded with a general report and individual reports of each of the governing body of WIPO.

During the visit, the delegation met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Swiss Confederation Mukhtar Tleuberdy. At this meeting they discussed issues of coordination of Kazakhstan of next year. However, the meeting with the Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China Li Yuguang on bilateral cooperation.
