National Institute of Intellectual Property
In January, 2016 the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan starts the Republican contest of achievements in the field of inventive activity "Shapagat" aimed at the promotion and support of inventive activity in the Republic.
The contest was organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republican State Enterprise "National Institute of Intellectual Property" of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Applications for participation in the Contest begins since January, 18 and ends on April, 1of this year. The selection of applications will provide Competitive commission of representatives from academic institutions, government agencies, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the patent attorneys of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The competition is open to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and citizens permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan with patents relating to various spheres of science and technology.

In the nomination "Invention of the Year" selection of applications is carried out by legal entities and individuals in the following fields of science: "Chemistry", "Health", "Agriculture, processing of agricultural products", "Communications", "Oil and gas and mining industry".
In the nomination "Young Talent" are selected from among the applicants of school children and college students under the age of 16 years. This category may participate scientific works, unprotected by a patent.The Competitive commission also performs selection of applications on the proposals of the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Eurasian Patent Organization for submission to the awarding of medals of these international organizations.
The awards and results of the competition will be announced on April, 26 of this year in celebration of World Intellectual Property Day.
