Information on the Fellowship contract of WIPO on Madrid system for the international registration of marks for member states to Madrid system

International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) provides annually the Program on Fellowship contract on Madrid system for the international registration of marks for member states to Madrid system.
The purpose of the Program is to strengthen the further cooperation between the WIPO and member - states to Madrid system and its effective functioning.
Program on Fellowship on Madrid system was initiated by International Bureau of WIPO in 2010. Program offers the opportunity of having a job experience in Geneva, headquarters of WIPO, for the period from a year to two years for the examiners from National offices of the Contracting parties within the Madrid system. During the Program, examiner will have a specific experience in international registration and become the important link between the national office and International Bureau of WIPO by returning.
WIPO announces on a call for applications, which can be attended by all the examiners of member states to Madrid system.
According to the conditions of participation, interested offices should nominate the examiners on trademarks registration with job experience on international registration of marks within the Madrid Protocol. Candidates should meet the requirements on working with electronic and communication sources.
Candidates are interviewed, by the result of which only one examiner will be selected.
Thus, head of the Division on examination of international applications for trademarks of the “National Institute of Intellectual Property” RSE of the Ministry of Justice Ms. Galiya Turganova has participated in the Program.
By the result of final interview Ms. Galiya Turganova was awarded by the stipend and from 1 March 2017 will start her duties in headquarters of WIPO.
The examiners of the “National Institute of Intellectual Property” RSE (“NIIP” RSE) have participated in the Program for the first time. This achievement describes the high qualification of examiners of our Office and their ability to compete in their spheres.“NIIP” RSE intends to strengthen the activity in this direction currently.
