With the purpose of acquaintance and studying of the European experience in the field of protection of intellectual property objects, the delegation of NIIP headed by the director Y.K.Ospanov, in the period from 2 to 5 May this year, visited the Land Court of Munich, as well as offices of the European Patent Office and the German Patent and Trademark Office.
On May 2, a meeting with the President of the Regional Court, Dr. Hans-Joachim Hebler and the judge of the Land Court, Mr. Oliver Schön, was held in one of the buildings of the Land Court in Munich.
Mr. Oliver Schön, on the example of trademarks, highlighted a number of key issues in the judicial practice of compensation for the illegal use of intellectual property in civil proceedings.
On May 3, a meeting with the representatives of the European Patent Office was held by Vice-President for Legal Affairs and International Relations Mr. Raymond Lutz, as well as with the staff of the Office.
Within the framework of this meeting, presentations on the European Patent Office, the Unitary European Patent and the examination of applications for European patents (formal examination and substantive examination) were presented.
On May 4 - 5, meetings with the representatives of the German Patent and Trademark Office, the President of the Office, Ms. Cornelia Rudloff-Schaeffer, as well as with the staff of the Office, were held.
In the framework of these meetings, presentations on the German Patent and Trademark Office, the issues of patents for inventions and utility models, as well as the registration of trademarks and industrial designs were presented.
Meetings with representatives of these organizations were held with the support of a non-profit association that provides assistance to countries in the law development, the German Foundation for International Law and Cooperation (IRZ). Ms. Keskin Melek, the member of the Project Division No. 6 took part in these meetings on behalf of IRZ.
