Results of the final qualifying round of the contest among schoolchildren in the transport industry

There was a final selection of the contest among schoolchildren in the transport sector at Nazarbayev University on June 20 - 22. 80 students from all regions and cities of Astana, Almaty took part in it. The organizers of the contest were the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and The State Enterprise "NIIS" together with the University of Cranfield (Great Britain). At the opening of the final round, a welcome speech was delivered by Sir Richard Evans, Independent Director of Samruk-Kazyna JSC; Yerbol Ospanov, Director of State Enterprise "NIIS"; Yerden Қussain, Vice-President of Nazarbayev University AEO; Graham Stark, representative of schools in Aerospace Challenge, Cranfield University.
Qualifying stage was held by representatives of schools in aerospace competitions from Cranfield University: Ian Hollingworth, Craig Penrice. According to the results of the three-day rounds, the teams of the students from Astana and the Aktobe region, as well as the students from each regional team, presented by the Akimats of the regions, Astana and Almaty (the list of the winners) were recognized as winners. As a prize the finalists are given the opportunity to visit the UK as part of a study tour to Cranfield University from August 6 to 13, 2017.
During the final round, the participants of the competition visited the international exhibition EXPO, the National Museum, Nazarbayev University and had an interesting meeting with the graduates of “Bolashak” – the international scholarship.
General partners of the contest were Fund “Samruk-Kazyna Trust”, “Air Astana” (the flag carrier).
