National Institute of Intellectual Property
On February 1-2, 2018, the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the director of the National Institute of Intellectual Property Ospanov E.K. took part in the International Conference "Intellectual Property in a New Technological Way" in Moscow, Russia.
The conference was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkadiy Dvorkovich, Deputy Director General of WIPO John Sandage, President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization Saule Tlevlesova, heads of national patent offices and representatives of the expert community.
Heads of national patent offices of Russia, Chile, Morocco, Jamaica, and professors of universities of Australia, Great Britain, Israel, as well as experts in the field of intellectual property from Australia, Singapore, Japan and other countries spoke as speakers.
The challenges faced by the institution of intellectual property in the context of the digitalization of the economy and the emergence of new technological opportunities were discussed at the conference.
The conference participants noted the importance of cooperation between patent offices in order to speed up the procedure for examining applications and improving the quality of issued patents. It was stated that at the moment the expert work cannot be replaced by artificial intelligence, and the ways of responding of the modern system of patenting to the challenges of technological development will be largely determined by the willingness of society.
