National Institute of Intellectual Property
June 5, 2018 at the Heydar Aliyev Center, Baku was held an international conference with the participation of the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, Francis Gurry.
From Kazakh patent office the Director of the National Institute of Intellectual Property, Ospanov E.K and Deputy Head of the Division for Development and International Cooperation, I.Shertysheva, took part in the conference with the theme "Supporting Intellectual Property, Knowledge Economy and Innovation".
The conference is aimed at strengthening the protection of copyright, as well as sharing experiences with foreign countries to create mechanisms that facilitate the work of legal framework.
President of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Academician Akif Alizadeh, Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov, President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization Saule Tlevlesova, General Director of the Center for Patents and Trademarks Gunel Sevdimalieva and well-known foreign experts delivered a talk.
Within the framework of the international conference, a regional seminar was held, during which reports were heard on the topics "Intangible Assets in Global Value Chains" and "Innovation and Energy", as well as an exhibition of start-ups created by Azerbaijani universities took place.
Chairman of the Board of the Agency for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamran Imanov, highly appreciated the visit of the Director General of WIPO Francis Gurry to Baku and thanked all participants of the international conference.
