Training seminar on patenting in the IT sphere held on the Astana Hub’s site

On 7th February the training seminar on “Patenting in the IT sphere. Protection of the intellectual property” held on the Astana Hub’s site with the participation of the administration and experts of the NIIP.

Welcoming speech and presentation of brief introduction of the main activity of the Institute were presented by the Deputy Director of NIIP N. Abulkairov who expressed its gratitude to the Astana Hub for organizing this event and its hope to further fruitful cooperation.

Furthmore, presentation was presented by Head of Department on inventions, utility models and selection achievements of NIIP A. Batyrbekova who highlighted the significant growth in number of patents for digital electronic computers including computer systems, data processing and recognition methods in Kazakhstan. “Within this direction NIIP issued 210 patents wherein 115 for national applicants and 95 for international applicants”. By the result of presentation speaker responded to the questions of IT representatives on international registration of IT technologies.

Next presentation on the topic “Legal protection of the trademarks and appellations of origin” was introduced by Head of Department of trademarks, appellations of origin and industrial designs A. Kaziyeva. During the presentation speaker presented detailed information on registration of trademarks in international and national level. Presentation on “Legal protection of industrial designs” was demonstrated by Head of Division on industrial designs L. Salken. The last presentation was presented by Head of division of copyrights A. Taysheva who introduced the essentials of copyright in Kazakhstan in details.

Within the seminar guests were asking questions actively and received structured responses from experts. By the result of the seminar organizers gave thanks to the representatives of NIIP for organizing the event and giving information.
