National Institute of Intellectual Property
On February 11, 2019, in order to promote the importance of intellectual property and its legal protection, JSC “Astana Medical University” along with the experts of RSE National Institute of Intellectual Property (hereinafter - Institute) held a seminar on the registration of intellectual property.
Vice Rector for scientific and clinical activities of the Medical University of Astana Mr. Akhmetov and Head of the incubator – Mr. Frolov made a welcome speech and thanked representatives of the Institute for the conduct of this training workshop and the high importance of it for students and teaching staff of the University.
7 speakers of the Institute made their presentations going into detail in about the activities of the Institute; questions of examination and registration of intellectual property objects, in particular, on the legal protection of inventions and utility models, foreign patenting; legal protection of trademarks and appellations of origin; legal protection of industrial designs; disposal of the exclusive right on registered industrial property under the contract; basics of copyright in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as electronic filing of applications for registration of intellectual property.
During the seminar, students and guests of the seminar actively asked their questions. The seminar was held in an interactive format. At the end participants expressed their wish to continue cooperation in this direction and to organize such meetings throughout 2019.
