Training workshop took place at the International Green Technologies and Investments Center

On February 13, 2019, in order to raise awareness of the importance of IP legal protection, a seminar on IP registration with the participation of NIIP representatives took place at the International Green Technologies and Investments Center (hereinafter - the Center).
During the seminar several questions about the activities of the Institute were covered. Head of the Development and International Cooperation Division Aidyn Artykova, delivered a welcoming speech, spoke about the NIIP work and the current state of the Kazakhstan patent system as a whole. Chief examiner of the Division on Patent Examination in the field of Physics and Mechanical Engineering of the Department of Inventions, Utility Models and Selection Achievements Saltanat Umbetova acquainted the staff with the process of national and foreign patenting of inventions and utility models. Head of the Department of Trademarks, Appellations of Origin and Industrial Designs, Assemgul Kaziyeva, highlighted the main points of the national and international trademark registration. It should be noted that the participants were most interested in the registration of licensing agreements on granting the right to use IP objects.
Darkhan Nygmetov, Head of the Division on Examination of Agreements of the Department of State Registries, Publication and Examination of Agreements spoke in detail about the registration of licensing agreements, noted the difference with other types of agreements, and presented statistics in recent years.
The participants present from the side of the Center, headed by the Deputy Head of the Center Vyacheslav Sovetsky, noted the significance and positive effect of holding this event due to the specifics of their work, thanked the NIIP staff for its organization and suggested holding similar seminars and consultations on a regular basis as part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between NIIP and the International Green Technologies and Investments Center.
