National Institute of Intellectual Property
On February 25, 2019, a delegation of the Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Uzbekistan arrived in NIIP with a working visit. It included the head of the International Department Bakhrom Rakhimberdiyev, the head of the Formal Examination Department Uktam Ibragimov, the head of the Department for Monitoring the Violation of Intellectual Property Rights Zhakhongir Mansurov and the head of the Trademarks Department Dilmurat Shermatov.
The main topics of the meeting were acquaintance with the intellectual property system of Kazakhstan, maintenance of the customs register and recognition of counterfeit products when crossing the customs border in Kazakhstan.
The meeting was opened by NIIP Deputy Director Makpal Shugaipova, who welcomed the guests and noted the commitment and readiness of the Institute to develop international cooperation, including with the Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Further, the representatives of NIIP made introductory presentations on the national and international IP registration. The leading expert of the Department of Monitoring of Customs Operations of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Myrzagali told about the maintenance of the customs register, recognition of counterfeit products when crossing the customs border of Kazakhstan, and taking measures regarding such goods.
On February 26, 2019, representatives of the Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Uzbekistan will visit the workplaces of employees of NIIP structural subdivisions during the second day of their official visit to Astana.
