National Institute of Intellectual Property
In April 2019, the branch of the National Institute of Intellectual Property held field seminars for students of schools №19, №79 and № 98 of Almaty on the topic: "Amazing inventions in science and technology. The concept of a trademark, the law in the field of trademarks". The purpose of the seminars is to create an incentive to creativity and invention, as well as to increase awareness of the importance of intellectual property among Kazakh students. The seminars were held in the framework of events dedicated to the celebration of the World Day of Intellectual Property.
At the seminars, the presentation materials were made by the Chief experts of the Department of patent research on inventions A. Abdildanova, A. Gazizova and the Chief expert of the Department of analytical research on trademarks and industrial designs N. Aidarbekov. The speakers explained to the students the concept of a trademark and the norms of Kazakhstan's legislation in the field of trademarks, told about the World Day of Intellectual Property and that this year dedicated to the world of sports. Students also learned the latest news from the world of science and technology. In addition, the participants of the seminars were provided with information about the Eurasian patent Universiade "Look into the future" and the contest of schoolchildren "Nazarbayev Fund Schools Challenge", which was launched in March this year, organized by RSE "NIIP".
The seminars were conducted interactively and were useful not only to students, but to teaching staff. Similar events will be held throughout the year in other educational institutions. At the end of the seminar, all the questions concerning the protection of intellectual property rights were answered.
