A seminar organized by the Department of Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the World Intellectual Property Organization was held in Nur-Sultan

On September 24, 2019, Nur-Sultan hosted a seminar organized by the Department of intellectual property rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Eric Wilbers, Director of the center for mediation and arbitration of WIPO, was the main speaker of the seminar on alternative methods of dispute resolution in the field of intellectual property, including the discussion of the experience of dispute resolution on trademarks.

Vice-Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almat Madaliyev opened the event with a welcoming speech.

The seminar was attended by judges, representatives of interested state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and patent attorneys.

Also, the seminar was attended by representatives of RSE “NIIP” in the person of the first Deputy Director of RSE “NIIP” Kaliya Batayeva, Deputy Director of RSE “NIIP” Makpal Shugaipova and senior expert of Department of examination of trademarks and appellations of origin of goods Abzal Abdimutalip and the chief specialist of Department of legal support and monitoring of public services Nurkeldi Temirkhan.

Kassym Maulenov, Doctor of Law, Professor of the International University of Information Technology, and Assemgul Abenova, Head of the Industrial Property Department of the Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also acted as speakers.
