A ceremony of rewarding the winners of three republican contests and the winners of the Eurasian Patent Universiade “Looking into the Future” was held at the Nazarbayev Center

Solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of republican competitions held by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and NIIP took place at the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy on October 25, 2019:

1. Nazarbayev Fund Schools Challenge;

2. Republican online - competition of inventors "Shapagat";

3. Republican online competition among schoolchildren for the best essay "The future is in your hands: invent and create."

The event was opened by the Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Alkey Margulanuly, Vice Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Natalya Pan, Vice President for Innovation of Nazarbayev University Yerden Kussain, Deputy Director General of the "Samruk-Kazyna Trust" Social Development Foundation Assel Shildebayeva, who congratulated the winners and also noted the importance of holding competitions in order to encourage and stimulate inventive activity among young and adult population of Kazakhstan.

The first Nazarbayev Fund Schools Challenge was held in June 2019 under the auspices of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy at Nazarbayev University. The aim of the competition is to stimulate and support the intellectual potential of Kazakhstani schoolchildren, increase their interest in creating products of intellectual activity and familiarize the general public with the creative and scientific achievements of young people. It was attended by teams from all regions of Kazakhstan and the cities of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent. The jury consisted of representatives of Schools Aerospace Challenge from Cranfield University (Great Britain), as well as representatives of the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Foundation and Air Astana. According to the results of the three-day tour, the teams of students from Akmola and Pavlodar regions, as well as students from each regional team and teams of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, were recognized as winners. The finalists, as a prize, had the opportunity to visit the United Kingdom as part of an educational trip to Cranfield University rom August 19 to 26, 2019.

Winners of the "Nazarbayev Fund Schools Challenge - 2019"

The second Republican online competition of inventors “Shapagat” started on April 26, 2019 on World Intellectual Property Day. The competition is held in order to promote inventive activity and to increase public awareness of inventive activity. Until August 26, 2019, participants submitted their videos on patented inventions, utility models, and industrial designs issued in 2018. In the period from September 1 to October 10, 2019, an online voting of the population took place. The winners are ten people who received the most votes for their patents in the field of medicine, food industry, agriculture, design. The largest number of votes was received by the chief specialist of the office of commercialization and transfer technologies, candidate of technical sciences of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University Lyazzat Shildebayeva for the industrial design "Women's coat with a national ornament" (5,271 votes).

Winners of the online competition of inventors "Shapagat" 2019

The third Republican contest among schoolchildren for the best essay “The future is in your hands: invent and create” started on September 24, 2019. The purpose of the competition is to stimulate creative activity among schoolchildren, to popularize and disseminate knowledge in the field of intellectual property, to instill the foundations of patent culture for the younger generation. Pupils in the age category of 8-11 grades participated in this competition. Over 260 essays in the state, Russian and English languages were received from all over the republic. On October 14, 2019, the results of the competition were summed up. The competition committee recognized as the best essay the work of the student of the Lyceum “Bilim Innovation” for gifted young men of Pavlodar Ratbek Shamshitov, who, in turn, despite his young age, is already an inventor. He created the TRAINAUT application for autistic children, which is used by more than 90 families in Kazakhstan, Russia and Georgia.

During the ceremony it was also presented awards of the Eurasian Patent Organization, namely the Gold Medal of V.I. Blinnikov “For contribution in inventive and patent work” to the Director of D.A.KunayevMining Institute, Honored Inventor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Nikolay Buktukov, as well as a diploma of the Eurasian Patent Universiade “Looking into the Future” to 4th year student of the faculty of pharmaceutical production technology of the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov Assel Zhumagazeyeva.
