EAPO conducted training for patent offices of the EAPC member states, technology parks and innovation centers

From March 16 to March 18, 2021, the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) conducted an online training session on the approaches of the EAPO and other industrial property offices to the examination of inventions in the field of information and telecommunication technologies.

The training was attended by employees of the patent offices of the EAPC Member States, technology parks and innovation centers. The Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by employees of the Department of Inventions, Utility Models and Selection Achievements of RSE "NIIP", employees of the branch of RSE" NIIP" in Almaty, representatives of the business accelerator of Nazarbayev University, as well as employees of the commercialization office and the teaching staff of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

During the training were discussed issues of computer programs in the light of patent law; patent classifications; features of classification in the IPC of inventions implemented using a computer, including inventions in the field of artificial intelligence; a general overview of problems with hardware and software solutions and blockchain. The organizers provided practical classes on the topics of the training, so that the participants could fully study the material provided.

It should be noted that in 2021 the EAPO plans to hold a series of seminars and trainings on topics in the field of patenting inventions and industrial designs in a remote format.
