National Institute of Intellectual Property
On October 12, 2022, Qazpatent, in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), held an online workshop on the development of the national network of Innovation and technology Support Centers (ITSC) in Kazakhstan.
Deputy Director of Kazpatent Aisha Zhumabekova and Director of the Technology and Innovation Support Department of WIPO Andrew Tchaikovsky opened the workshop with a welcoming speech.
The speakers from WIPO were the Head of the Technology Information Section, IP Department for Innovators, IP Ecosystem and Innovation Sector, WIPO Mussadik Hussain and the Program Officer, ITSC Development Section, Technology and Innovation Support Department, IP Department for Innovators, WIPO Natalie Montillo.
Kyrgyzpatent employees, ITSC project Coordinator and Head of the Invention Support Department of Kyrgyzpatent Venera Imangazieva and ITSC project Coordinator, Osh Technological University Nurlan Kaldybayev shared their experience and practice in the implementation and management of national ITSC networks.
The target audience of this event was ITSC coordinators and employees of the intellectual property rights departments of the territorial justice bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A total of 55 listeners took part.
Following the results of the workshop, a round table was held on the further development of the national ITSC network in Kazakhstan and the next steps.
It should be noted that Qazpatent is actively working on the development of the national ITSC network. This is an international project initiated by WIPO with the aim of helping to increase the innovation potential of countries and regions. In total, 15 Centers have been opened in Kazakhstan.
