In October 2018, amendments were made to the standards of public services in the field of intellectual property

RSE "NIIP" has been providing public services in the field of intellectual property since 2014.

Most of the services included such business processes as filing an application, conducting an examination, making a decision on registration or refusal of registration, registration in the state register, issuance of a security document and publication of information.

In October 2018, amendments were made to the standards of public services in the field of intellectual property*, according to which the procedures prior to registration in the state register were withdrawn from the sphere of public services. Now the service recipient can apply for the state service after the examination is completed and a decision is made about it.

State services in respect of such intellectual property objects as an invention, utility model, industrial design, trademarks, appellation of origin, selection achievement included since October 30, 2018,:

• the procedure of registration in state registers;
• the issue of the security document;
• publication of information.

In accordance with the standards of public services, the reception of documents and the issuance of the results of the provision of public services is carried out only through the office of the service provider (by mail or on purpose) or the web portal of "electronic government" www.egov.kz

In this regard, applications and applications for the provision of public services sent to the e-mail address kazpatent@kazpatent.kz,  cannot be taken**.

At the same time, e-copies of other documents, such as responses to requests, petitions, payment documents and other materials of applications not related to the provision of public services, sent to the email address kazpatent@kazpatent.kz still being accepted.

**According to paragraph 12) of article 1 Of the law "on electronic document and electronic digital signature" an electronic document is a document in which information is presented in electronic digital form and certified by means of electronic digital signature.
