National Institute of Intellectual Property
From May 19 to 21, 2025, the XIII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF-2025), one of the largest international platforms for discussion of topical issues of legal regulation and interaction in the legal sphere, was held in St. Petersburg (Russian Federation).
Sabit Akhmetov, Director of the National Institute of Intellectual Property Qazpatent, took part in the event as part of the official delegation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Minister Erlan Sarsembayev.
On the margins of the Forum a working meeting was held with Grigory Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) of the Eurasian Patent Organization. The parties discussed topical issues of interaction between the EAPO and the Office of Kazakhstan, as well as exchanged proposals on further strengthening and development of bilateral cooperation in the field of intellectual property.
On May 21, 2025, Sabit Akhmetov delivered a report within the panel discussion on “Intellectual Property Law: Global Challenges, Development Trends and Solutions”. In his speech he highlighted the key challenges faced by the global community in the era of digitalization, spoke about the strategic priorities of Qazpatent in the current and future periods, and also focused on the need for international dialogue and exchange of experience to effectively respond to global changes in the field of intellectual property.
