National Institute of Intellectual Property
On March 12, 2025 a meeting with patent attorneys of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in the office of Qazpatent. The event was organized to discuss topical issues in the field of intellectual property and to improve interaction with the agency.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Sabit Akhmetov, Director of the National Institute of Intellectual Property. In his welcoming speech he emphasized the importance of cooperation with patent attorneys, who play a key role in the protection of intellectual property. He noted that Qazpatent is actively introducing modern tools and improving processes in this area. The Director also presented the priority areas of work of the office for 2025, including digitalization, development of international cooperation and improvement of services for applicants.
During the meeting a number of questions and proposals of patent attorneys were discussed concerning the improvement of procedures for registration of patents, trademarks and other intellectual property objects. The discussions touched upon both technical aspects of the work of the Office and legal norms that need to be updated. In particular, the issues of pre-trial settlement of disputes and participation of the Office in court proceedings related to the protection of intellectual property rights were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of processes, the introduction of new technologies to increase transparency and data security, as well as the acceleration of application and registration procedures
At the end of the meeting Sabit Akhmetov thanked all the participants for their active participation and constructive suggestions, emphasizing that all the ideas expressed will be taken into account in the future work of the department.
“The success of Qazpatent depends largely on the participation of professionals in the field of intellectual property. Your suggestions and comments help us to improve our work, and we are always open for dialog and further development”, — said Sabit Akhmetov.
The event was an important step in strengthening cooperation between Qazpatent and patent attorneys, as well as in finding solutions for further development of the intellectual property protection system in Kazakhstan.
