Intellectual assets are the primary tools of the modern economy, providing the ability to achieve high rates of economic growth of the countries of the world. Full integration into the structure of the world market is not possible without the development of the system of protection of intellectual property. At the present stage of development of intellectual property protection is a key objective.

The rapid growth of Internet usage for e-commerce and information exchange requires a more robust system of intellectual property protection, as the Internet is not only an indispensable tool for the receipt and transmission of information in the digital environment, but also the means of committing transnational crimes, the effects of which are not always predictable.

In order to explore the issues of ensuring the rights of copyright holders on the Internet and developing common action at the international level, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the framework of the VI Astana Economic Forum on May 24, 2013 holds a panel session on the topic "Protection of intellectual property on the Internet: Challenges and Prospects. "

As a powerful means of information aggregation of countries and peoples, the cause of their economic integration, global networks can simultaneously be an instrument of information, political and cultural expansion. Today, there is a need to bring together all interested individuals and organizations in order to protect the exclusive rights of copyright holders, including and the Internet.

In order to discuss issues and develop common measures invited the leading international experts in the field.

In the panel session will be attended by representatives of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Eurasian Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), the Union of copyright in Central and Eastern Europe (CEECA), the European branch of Microsoft Corporation, the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO), the leaders public authorities and patent offices, as well as the authors and copyright holders.
