Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the National Institute of Intellectual Property in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 79 dated 2010.03.10, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 77/1 from 2010.22.02, Minister of Industry andTrade of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 74 dated 10.03.2010.03.10 on May 22,2014 inAstana held anAnnual Republican contest of achievements in the field of inventive activity "Shapagat"
Objectives of competition : Increasing the role of intellectual property in the Republic of Kazakhstan, improving the image of inventors through recognition of their merits and contribution to the innovative development of the country , promoting investment in inventive and innovative areas attract and enhance public recognition of inventors and their work. The contest is held in accordance with the "Rules of the Republican contest of achievements in the field of inventive activity "Shapagat "approved by the order above, according to which national competition involves patent owners with existing innovative patents and patents , issued and published in 2013. Innovative patents and patents granted and published in previous years are not counted.
The contest is held in the following categories:-
" Invention of the Year " - three awards;
- "Woman Inventor" - two awards;
-"The youngest inventor";
-"The most active inventor"
-"Young talent”
As part of the competition in the category " Young talent " selected bidder of the number of students and schoolchildren aged 14 to 18 whose research work can be attributed to the most promising developments and meet the criteria of originality. In this category are open to work unprotected innovative patent or patent.There are also awards the World Intellectual Property Organization and the gold medal of the Eurasian Patent Office named V.I.Blinnikov "For contribution to inventive and patent work.Winners are awarded valuable statuette "Shapagat " and cash prizes. Selection of entries will be held at RSE "NIIP" in Astana. The awards ceremony will be held on May 22,2014 inAstana within the VII Astana Economic Forum.
