Training seminar on legal aspects of patent examination of industrial designs and trademark examination with the participation of experts from the National Institute of Industrial Property (the French Republic)

On 05-06 of November, 2015 in Astana held training with the participation of experts from France and the Republic of Kazakhstan to exchange experiences in the field of registration of geographical indications and industrial designs in France.The purpose of the meeting is to exchange experiences in the field of registration of geographical indications, appellations of origin and industrial designs inFranceand in theRepublic of Kazakhstan.

The meeting was attended by foreign guests Caroline Le Peltier, Consultant for Special Assignments Office of Legal and International Affairs of the National Institute of Industrial Property of France; Antoine Ginestet, head of the geographical indications of the National Institute of Industrial Property of France;Deputy Director of RSE NIIPM. Bereketov, Head of Direction on Examination of Trademarks and Appellations of Origin A. Abenova, experts of directions on registration and preliminary examination of trademarks and appellations of origin, expertise of international trademark applications.The discussion was held in an open, constructive and friendly atmosphere.The results of the meeting it was decided to continue the cooperation and exchange of experience in matters of registration of geographical indications and appellations of origin and industrial designs.Also, experts from France took part in a subregional seminar on the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), where the legal framework governing the registration of industrial designs under the laws of France, the European Union (including the law of the Organization for Harmonization in the Internal Market - OHIM) and international practice acted Ms Caroline Le Peltier - Adviser for Special Assignments Department for Legal and International Affairs of the National Institute of Industrial Property of France and Antoine Ginestet, Head of the geographical indications direction of the National Institute of Industrial Property of France shared the experience on the legal and practical basis of the examination of applications for registration of geographical indications and appellations places of origin in France.
