A meeting was held between the leadership of the RSE “NIIP” and the President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization Tlevlesova S.

On November 8, 2018, the delegation of the Eurasian Patent Office visited the “NIIP” RSE composed of President Saule Tlevlesova and the head of the legal support, quality control and document management department - the head of the law department Sholpan Abdreyeva.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the director of the RSE “NIIP” Yerbol Ospanov, who spoke about the key activities of the Institute. A presentation, including detailed information on the work of the “NIIP” RSE as the national patent office of the Contracting State of the Eurasian Patent Convention, was made by the first deputy director Kalia Batayeva. In her report, K. Bataeva reflected the main statistical indicators on filing Eurasian applications through the Institute, on the ongoing work to popularize the Eurasian patent system, and also noted the positive dynamics of interaction between the departments - now all patent examiners of the Institute have completed an internship in EAPO.

During the event, the Director of the RSE “NIIP” expressed his gratitude to Ms. Tlevlesova for organizing and holding from 22 to 23 October 2018 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the thirty-fourth (twenty-fifth regular) meeting of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization (AC EAPO) based on the results of which it was decided to hold in 2019 the next meeting of the EAPO AC in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In order to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as to study the experience of the Eurasian Office in terms of conducting patent examination between the parties, an agreement was reached on the official visit of the delegation of the “NIIP” RSE to the EAPO in December this year.
