On November 14, 2018, representatives NIIP headed by the Director Yerbol Ospanov participated in a seminar on legal advocacy on intellectual property rights organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with a foreign consultant, law firm Reed Smith LLP.
Partners and lawyers of Reed Smith LLP, Jonathan Radcliffe, Clark W. Lackert, John Goodwill, as well as Managing Director of the leading global consultant on valuation and corporate finance of Duff & Phelps James Palmer, spoke as speakers.
In the framework of the seminar issues of legal protection of intellectual property; patenting of computer software and computer technologies; intellectual property valuations; introductions to the commercialization of intellectual property have been discussed.
The participants of the event actively asked questions related to the international practice of speakers, were interested in the experience of foreign countries in ensuring the protection of intellectual property, and also noted the importance of raising the level of awareness in the field of IP in Kazakhstan.
