Final selection of the Republican contest among schoolchildren “Nazarbayev Fund Schools Challenge - 2019” (hereinafter - Challenge) took place from June 25 to 27, 2019, at the Nazarbayev University. Schoolchildren from all regions of Kazakhstan and from Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent took part in it.
Challenge is held under the auspices of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy. Challenge is organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and NIIP together with Nazarbayev University and the British University of Cranfield. The competition partners are the national carrier of Kazakhstan Air Astana and the Social Development Foundation Samruk-Kazyna Trust.
Jury of the final qualifying round included a representative of Cranfield University, a member of the Royal Aviation Society, captain Ian Hollingworth, senior maintenance manager of Air Astana Ruslan Shayakhmetov, head of the business incubator at Nazarbayev University Research and Innovation System, program manager for start-up business incubation at the early stage of ABC Incubation Anarbek Utegulov, as well as the general manager of the project management department of Samruk-Kazyna Trust Zhanar Zhaksylykova.
According to the results of the three-day tour, teams of schoolchildren from Pavlodar and Akmola regions, as well as schoolchildren from other regional teams, noted by the jury, were recognized as winners.
Winners (40 people) are given the opportunity to visit the UK as part of a study trip to Cranfield University from 19 to 26 August 2019.
At the end, Vice-Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Natalya Pan, Vice-President for Innovations at Nazarbayev University Yerden Kussain, NIIP Director Yerbol Ospanov, and Coordinator for International Cooperation of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Anastassiya Mamlyutova congratulated the winners and wished good luck and continued success to all participants of the Challenge.
In turn, teachers and participants of the teams expressed their gratitude to the organizers and noted the importance of holding such competitions.
