On October 24, 2019 in Nur-Sultan in NAO "Medical University Astana" a seminar "Inventing The Future. Innovation and Health» was held. The seminar was organized by NAO "Astana Medical University" and RSE "National Institute of Intellectual Property".
The event began with a welcome speech by Guldana Ilyasova, Head of the Department of inventions, utility models and selection achievements of RSE "NIIP". The speakers were Gulnar Kaltayeva - patent expert on medicine, Lyazzat Tutesheva - expert on foreign patenting and Shiderbekov Sayat - Acting head of the copyright Department.
Gulnar Kaltayeva spoke to the audience about the patenting procedure for medical inventions and promising areas for the development of medical innovations. A separate topic of the presentation by patent expert Gulnar Kaltayeva was to familiarize students with the WIPO report on the 2019 Global Innovation Index on the topic: Towards a healthy lifestyle: the future of medical innovation. During her speech, Gulnar Kaltayeva reviewed the report and spoke about the development trends of medical innovations and noted the importance of developing medical inventions that improve the quality of life. Detailed information about what you need to know to patent your invention abroad was told by Lyazzat Tutesheva. During her speech, she spoke about the strategies and costs of international patenting of inventions that allow expanding the territorial boundaries of the patent. In addition, she gave an example of the successful experience of Kazakh inventors who received foreign patents. For example, a group of scientists led by Adekenov S. M. and JSC "Phytochemistry" patented the drug "Arglabin" in the Eurasian patent office, the United States, Georgia, the European patent office, etc. In addition, Shiderbekov Sayat provided information on copyright legislation and demonstrated in detail the procedure for entering information into the State register of objects protected by copyright.
Speakers aroused the interest of teachers, undergraduates and doctoral students of the University and the speakers answered all the questions of the seminar participants.
