Vice-Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akerke Akhmetova met with the teaching staff of the universities of Atyrau region

On March 25, 2022, at the site of Atyrau State University named after Khalel Dosmukhambetov, Vice Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akerke Akhmetova met with the teaching staff of universities of Atyrau region, representatives of the Atyrau regional branch of the “Union of Writers of Kazakhstan” and the branch “Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. The meeting was dedicated to providing favorable conditions for the observance and protection of intellectual property rights.

During the meeting, A.Akhmetova spoke about the work of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its non-governmental organization RSE “National Institute of Intellectual Property” (Kazpatent).

Representatives of Kazpatent Altynai Batyrbekova and Inkara Shertysheva presented to the audience information about the activities of the Institute as a whole, about some issues of patenting intellectual property objects, about the ongoing legal explanatory activities, as well as about the prospects for the development of a network of Technology and Innovation Support Centers in Kazakhstan.

Akerke Akhmetova announced that in order to cooperate and strengthen ties with the country's universities, training events in the field of intellectual property are held on an ongoing basis. Webinars with NAO “Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov” are scheduled for May 11 and 13 this year.

During the meeting, a number of questions were asked regarding the registration of intellectual property objects, to which answers were provided both in the audience and via online communication from Nur-Sultan.

In addition, the audience was provided with information about the work on the development of a network of Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs). It should be noted that the TISC is an international project initiated by the World Intellectual Property Organization with the aim of promoting the development of innovative potential of countries.As a result of the meeting, an agreement was signed on the establishment of a CPT on the basis of the NAO “Atyrau University named after H.Dosmukhamedov” MES RK.

During the visit, representatives of Kazpatent visited the Department of Justice of Atyrau region, where they discussed further plans for cooperation in the promotion of intellectual property protection, including the development of the TISC in Kazakhstan.
