Training on the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) , organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization ( WIPO)

On 11 – 14 of November, 2013 in Geneva (Switzerland) hosted a training on the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization ( WIPO) , which was held at the headquarters of WIPO.

In the academic training on the PCT attended by representatives of the following countries: Botswana, Georgia, the Eurasian Office, Moldova, Santome and Principe, South Africa and Uzbekistan. The Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by an expert of the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the MJ of the RK J. Yskak and Head of the formal examination and registration of inventions, utility models and breeding achievements of the RSE "NIIP" K. Iskakova

Participants welcomed by Mr. James Pooley, Deputy Director General, Innovation and Technology Sector, WIPO and Mr. Klaus Mattes, Director of International Cooperation Department of the PCT.

The main issues that were considered in the training, there were questions of electronic filing and processing of international applications under the PCT and the procedures for handling international applications.

Were heard presentations employees of departments of international cooperation PCT patent law, statistics, communications, and international classification standards, the global infrastructure sector, operational PCT (structure, function, performance indicators ) as a demonstration and training courses of the WIPO Academy.

Subject study visit due to the need for filing PCT electronic filing for patent offices of member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT ) . Lecturer their performances dedicated systems, services and standards , providing electronic interaction of applicants, Offices for the Protection of Industrial Property and the International Bureau of WIPO under the PCT system .

The program of the study visit , the training was intense and interesting .

By the end of the academic training, the participants were given certificates .

At the end of the training participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers of the study training noted the high level of professional lecturers.
