The leadership of Qazpatent took part in the panel session titled “Intellectual Property in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” held within the framework of the Astana International Forum.
The session addressed current challenges and prospects for regulating intellectual property amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies. The discussion focused on finding a balance between the interests of creators, developers, and society at large.
Minister of Justice Yerlan Sarsembayev emphasized the strategic importance of intellectual property as a tool for sustainable development and enhancing the country's investment appeal. Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Daren Tang, praised Kazakhstan’s contribution to developing a modern and balanced system of intellectual property protection.
The discussion also included participation from heads and representatives of patent offices from the Eurasian Patent Office, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Indonesia, China, Russia, and Tajikistan. The participants exchanged views on legal regulation approaches in the context of digital transformation and the growing role of artificial intelligence.
The panel discussion served as a productive platform for exchanging strategic perspectives on the future of intellectual property, including rethinking the concept of authorship and developing adaptive legal mechanisms that foster innovative growth.
