The Almaty branch hosted a seminar: “Legal protection of trademarks in the format of digital platforms”

On April 24, 2025, Almaty hosted the seminar “Legal protection of trademarks in the format of digital platforms”, organized by the Training Center of Qazpatent Branch. The event gathered experts in the field of intellectual property, representatives of business, scientific organizations, law firms, as well as entrepreneurs.

The seminar opened with a welcome speech by the Director of Qazpatent Branch, Orynbekova Zaure, who noted the importance of legal protection of trademarks in the rapid development of digital technologies. During the event the key aspects of trademark registration were discussed. The speakers spoke about the current issues of legal protection of trademarks, shared practical recommendations and explained what to pay attention to when filing applications. Special attention was paid to the issues of international trademark registration. The practical part of the seminar allowed the participants not only to obtain theoretical knowledge, but also to consolidate it in practice by studying real cases of court disputes.
The participants were particularly interested in the speeches of the invited lecturers. A representative of Kaspi bank JSC spoke about the policy of marketplaces on brand protection and interaction with copyright holders. A speaker from the Almaty Department of Justice shared his experience in law enforcement practice in the field of trademark protection and gave recommendations on how to respond to rights violations.

At the end of the event, a question and answer session was held, during which experts provided explanations on topical issues and shared recommendations on the protection of intellectual property rights. Following the results of the seminar, all participants were awarded certificates.
