On July 20, within the framework of implementation of the Joint Plan of training activities in the field of intellectual property for 2023 Qazpatent held a training webinar for employees of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on financial monitoring and departments of justice on the topic: "Collision of domain names and firm names with trademarks".
During the webinar the participants were able to familiarize themselves with the concepts of domain name and firm names and their differences from trademark registration, protection of domain names and firm names, as well as international practice regarding the use of domain names and firm names.
In the era of digital technology and instant access to information, intellectual property protection is one of the most important aspects. In this regard, it is important to distinguish between the legal regimes for the protection of domain names, business names and trademarks.
It is planned to organize such training events for other interested parties in the future.
