On May 22-23, 2023 Qazpatent delegation consisting of the Director of Qazpatent branch in Almaty Zaure Orynbekova, Head of Department of Trademarks, Geographical Indications, Appellations of Origin and Industrial Designs Gulnara Belgozhina and experts Gulbarshin Kazieva, Ainur Satanova, Diana Assilbekova, Indira Taybergenova, Kulparan Dyusenbayeva, who are currently on internship at King's College London, visited the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) in Newport, Wales.
Within the framework of this visit the training on examination of applications for trademarks, geographical indications, industrial designs and inventions was held. Colleagues from the UKIPO conducted a tour of the office building and shared the experience in conducting examination on industrial property, also were discussed current issues in the field of intellectual property.
The history of the UK Patent Office has deep historical roots and the visit of the Qazpatent experts is of great importance for the improvement of expertise and development of the intellectual property system in Kazakhstan.

Cooperation between the agencies will continue. Both countries have a progressive policy on intellectual property and recognize its importance in stimulating innovation and economic growth. Continuous exchange of experience, information and best practices will help create a favorable environment for technological development of the two countries.
